Evaluation of Physical Deconditioning
Hiroshi, Sunagawa
Abstract
Since the fact that cardiopulmonary dysfunction and physical deconditioning can coexist in patients with heart disease makes the interpretation even more complex. so accurate evaluation of physical deconditioning is essential in developing physical fitness programs. However this has been outstanding question. The proposed idea, characteristic combination of end-exercise (EEx) Ventilation (VE). EEx oxygen uptake (V02), EExOIE (=V02/VE). SLP (0¢¥02/0 HR), and R30% (deceleraton rate of V02), enable us to properly judge the underlying cause of seemingly poor exercise capacity. This novel approach makes cardiopulmonary exercise testing very useful as a clinical tool in managing cardiac patients. especially postoperative ones.
